Henry Coley (note1) introduces us two different methods of the Sun’s ingress.
One is the doctrine of Ptolemy . That is erecting for every year ,figures for the Sun’s ingress into the four cardinal points, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn as also the new or full Moon preceding and succeeding the sun’s ingress into the same signs.

Another is followed by Haly and Guido Bonatti. The methods is If at the Sun’s ingress into Aries, the ascendant shall be a fixed sign, then that figure shall serve for the judgment of the whole year, but if the ascendant be a common sign, the revolution figure shall continue but half a year and end at the Sun’s entrance into Libra, for which moment another scheme shall be erected for the other half year, but if the ascendant be a moveable sign at the…
